IT’S FINALLY FINISHED!
Our final show turned out well. I was in a group with Cece and Zoe, and we created a show called College Advice which advices about starting college as the name suggests. We each devised a topic for our segment and then made one commercial and one bumper each. It ended up being about twenty-two minutes.
I used an audio kit from the UC to record my radio segment since it would be at least five minutes long. The device that I used, Zoom H1n Audio Recorder, was pretty easy to use. So it took three tries to complete my segment, mostly because I would have to think for a second about what I was talking about. Three tries the time! The hardest part was hooking it up to my computer because of the FIVE USB cords that they have me; only ONE of them fit in the device. Besides this slight hiccup, it was much easier and faster to upload the audio file than if I recorded it on my phone and sent it through an email.
For my commercial, I decided to highlight the Old Dominion Humane Society, where my family adopted our dog, Colton (who is frequently shown on this website). I added cheerful, upbeat music in the background and puppy noises at the end. For my radio bumper, I used the one I made in week 7.
Finally, here is the logo I made for our radio show. It didn’t get used, but it is still pretty cool. For more about the design process, click here.
