Daily Create

The first task was to explain blockchain with a photo or picture. I don’t understand what blockchain is, but from what I researched online, it is like building with Legos. You get something extraordinary. So if you put Legos in the correct order and place. So, I found this GIF of a Lego rocket ship being built as my response.

The second task was to give the big book posted in the Tweet a title. I am a very anxious person with an active imagination so many things can keep me up at night. I have a dark sense of humor.

The third task was to take a prompt written by an A.I. program and create an image based on it. I was intrigued by the prompt “A baroness invents a better version of love: Getting drunk on gin.”. If there is one thing I love, it is a woman who realizes that alcohol is better than men. So I put the prompt into the NightCafe Creator program, which takes a sentence/prompt and uses an A.I. program to create an image based on it. You can choose different designs and style attributes for your idea. For example, let’s say I love them! I even did an extra one with the prompt “A Young Adult writer is murdered. The killer is revealed to be an ice cube.”.

The fourth task was to create a meme using a scene from the movie Alien. I was to decide who Ripley was summoned to the screen and what her response would be. Since Russia has been in the news lately, I figured this was the way to go. But, of course, one cannot escape the presence of Putin, not even in space.

Fun fact, my computer froze on the search engine result for pictures of Putin on the horse… it was hard to explain to my friend…

The fifth and final task for the week was to add an image to a reel that had just ended. Unfortunately, my dark sense of humor is once again present.

It still hurts… TWO YEARS LATER

Overall, the Daily Creates have been my favorite part of this week. They offer a nice break from my other classwork, and I enjoy having my creative juices challenged. My favorite was the A.I. art because I had no idea what the program would pop out.

Assignment Bank

I was drawn to the Places of Peace assignment because the longer the pandemic has gone on, the more I think about my past travels (my mind is the worst). Looking through my photos, I was reminded of how much I love traveling, and so many memories from past trips came flooding back. I was also reminded of how bad short hair looked on me. Anyways. I also choose a photo taken of my dog in my home because I am a creature of comfort, and there is no place like home with your furry brother.

I love Minecraft, so doing the Minecraft Cottage design assignment was a no-brainer. This was the project this week that I spent the most time on (four hours, if you’re wondering), and it was honestly my favorite one to do. I had fun exploring the creative mode on Minecraft for the first time in over a decade and playing around with blocks I do not yet have access to in survival mode.

I love a good GIF. I also love a good urban legend. The more disturbing, the better. So, why not combine those things by using GIFs to tell the story of a Japanese urban legend? See if you can guess the story.
